LVDS stands for Low Voltage Differential Signaling. It is a method used to transmit high-speed data over twisted pair cables with very low voltage swings. This technology allows signals to travel quickly while minimizing power consumption and electromagnetic interference (EMI), which makes it ideal for sensitive electronic environments.

When working on any LCD project, I’ve learned that one of the most overlooked yet critical components is the display cable assembly. It’s not just a wire. It’s the lifeline that connects your screen to the rest of the system, carrying high-speed signals and power with precision.

Coaxial cables are produced in many “RG” families that differ in impedance, diameter, dielectric, and shielding, which affects loss, bandwidth, and flexibility. For low‑loss RF and broadband distribution in homes and businesses, 75‑ohm RG‑series cables such as RG6, RG59, and RG11 are especially common.​

Coaxial cable is designed with a built-in shield that protects against electromagnetic interference. This makes it ideal for environments with heavy electrical noise, such as manufacturing floors, military installations, or hospitals.

Two of the most commonly used coaxial cables are RG6 and RG59. Both are widely used in residential and commercial settings, including satellite television, security systems, and video transmission.

It has a unique layered structure. Inside, there is a copper core that carries the signal. Surrounding that is an insulating layer, a metal shield that blocks interference, and an outer plastic jacket that protects everything. This design helps prevent signal loss and ensures consistent performance, especially over longer distances.

When selecting coaxial cables for your internet, TV, or CCTV setup, one key decision is whether to use standard off-the-shelf cables or custom-made solutions. From my experience, standard cables are sufficient for most home or small-office applications where the runs are short and the environmental conditions are typical.
